I've always been the person who wants to know how things work — and then wants to build a better version. That curiosity pulled me into data and geospatial analytics early, and it has kept me there through every wave since: cloud, machine learning, and now practical AI. Today I lead solutions architecture work across data, AI and cloud. Most of my days are spent with teams in industries that build the physical world — engineering, construction, real estate and transportation — figuring out where technology actually helps and where it's just noise. I wrote a book on geospatial analytics because I wanted the guide I wish I'd had, and I started Janalytics to keep sharing what I learn, one practical issue at a time. Outside of work, I'm a dad first. Family is the centre of everything I do, and most of my best ideas show up on walks with the kids or late at night after they're asleep. I earned my private pilot license because I wanted to do something that scared me a little, and I've carried a camera since 2012 — those photos live on Janagraphy, and the personal ones live here in Dear Diary. I call myself the imperfect perfectionist. I care deeply about craft, and I've also learned that waiting for perfect means never starting. So I build in public, learn out loud, and try to be a little better than yesterday. If something here resonates, say hello — I'd love to hear from you.
